'Protect Yourself from Migration Fraud'
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) is aware of the issue of prospective migrants to Australia being 'scammed' via the internet and by overseas based agents / operators making false promises about providing assistance in obtaining an Australian visa. The Minister for Immigration and Citizenship has announced the strategy to help clients to protect themself. As part of this strategy 'Protect Yourself from Migration Fraud' information kit has been launched. A copy of the 'Protect Yourself from Migration Fraud' kit can be found on the department's website at: http://www.immi.gov.au/migration-fraud/
The DIAC has requested that people with information about migration scams or illegal operators should:
